Daily Food Plan Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 11, 2026

Daily Food Plan ("Daily Food Plan," "we," "us") is a daily checklist for your food and supplements, available at dailyfoodplan.com and app.dailyfoodplan.com. This policy explains what we collect, where it's kept, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It's written to be read, so it's plain on purpose.

The short version

  • Your daily check-offs are never kept on our servers past the day they happen. Your history stays on your device.
  • Your food lists and routine are stored so your board works when you sign in, and you can delete everything yourself, any time.
  • We don't sell your information, we don't show ads, and we don't use tracking or analytics tools.
  • Professionals (coaches, dietitians, trainers) never see your check-offs.

1. Who we are

Daily Food Plan is a sole proprietorship. Our mailing address is 28 Geary Street, Suite 650 PMB 5482, San Francisco, CA 94108. Contact: support@dailyfoodplan.com. Privacy questions and requests go to the same address.

2. What we collect

When you use Daily Food Plan without signing in, everything stays in your browser on your device. Nothing about your board is sent to us.

When you sign in, we collect:

  • Your mobile phone number or your email address, to sign you in with a one-time code. People in the United States sign in with a text message; people elsewhere sign in with an email.
  • Your board's setup: your Pantry and Cabinet lists (foods, supplements, medications, and their nutrition numbers), your daily routine, meal names and times, plan types, recipes, goals, display choices (such as which numbers you see, your look, and units), and your board's title.
  • Today's check-offs, so your board shows the same thing on your devices today. See section 4 for how these are removed.
  • Your plan status: whether you're on Free, Plus, Family or a Professional plan, when a gift or early access ends, and which device your Free board is open on (we keep a random ID for that device, not its name or location, so a Free board opens on one device at a time).
  • Your own background photo, if you upload one.

If you use certain features, we also collect:

  • Family Plan: the phone numbers or email addresses of the people you invite, and your family's shared Pantry, Cabinet, recipes, and Today's focus note.
  • Share my plan / Share my look: the routine or look you chose to share (never your check-offs, notes, history, or anything marked Private). If you share a look with your own photo, a copy of that photo.
  • Professionals: a professional's account details (business name, tagline, logo, colors, contact number and email), the plans and recipes they write for clients, and their private notes about clients.
  • Devices on a Professional account: a Professional account can be signed in on a limited number of devices at once (three, unless we agree a different number with you). To keep to that, we keep a random ID for each device, not its name or location, and when it was last used. When a new device signs in over the limit, we sign out the one used longest ago.
  • Devices on Plus and Family: you can use as many devices as you like. We don't keep a list of your devices. Your board syncs to whichever device you sign in on.
  • Send feedback: if you send feedback from the app, we receive your message, the kind of feedback you picked, your device type, your browser and the app version, and your account. Nothing from your food lists or check-offs.
  • Contact support: when you email support@dailyfoodplan.com, we receive your email address and what you write. See "Support email" in section 3.
  • Gift, invite and early-access codes: when you use a code, we record that your account used it and when. For a gift, we keep its end date.
  • Beta and early-access applications: what you send us in the application form.
  • Setup chat (optional): what you say, type or paste to set up your plan. We don't keep the conversation; only the plan you approve is saved to your board. We keep a count of how often it's used, to limit costs.
  • Reading a label (optional): the photo, screenshot or copied label text you choose to have read, to fill in a product's details. We don't keep it; only the details you save are kept.
  • Looking up a food online (optional, Plus): the food name you type is sent to look up its nutrition. We keep a count of look-ups per day to limit use, not what you searched for.
  • Voice: the microphone button in the search box uses your device's or browser's own speech recognition (provided by its maker, such as Apple or Google). We don't receive your audio; only the words it turns into reach the search box.
  • Payments: payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your plan, whether it's monthly or yearly, its status and renewal date, whether you used an early-access code, and Stripe's customer and subscription IDs. We never receive or store your card number.

We don't ask for your name, age, sex, height, weight, or any medical diagnosis.

About health information. Your food lists, supplements, medications, and check-offs can reveal things about your health. We treat all of it as sensitive: we use it only to run your board, we never sell or share it for advertising, and we give you ways to see and delete it (section 7). Section 8 describes how this is handled under consumer health data laws.

3. How we use it

  • To run your board, sync it between your devices, and keep it safe.
  • To sign you in (we send the code by text message or email; we don't use your number or email for marketing).
  • To run features you choose: Family Plan, sharing, recipes, reminders, professional plans, the setup chat, reading labels, and looking up foods.
  • To know which plan you're on and what's included, and to take and manage payments.
  • To answer you when you contact us.

Support email. When you write to support@dailyfoodplan.com, we use your message to answer you and to improve Daily Food Plan. Messages are sorted by software that runs on our own computer and are not sent to an outside AI service for sorting. You may get an automatic reply saying we received your message. For some messages, including those about health or privacy, an AI service (Anthropic) may help draft a reply, which means your message text is sent to it; a person reviews every reply before it's sent, apart from the automatic acknowledgment. We keep support email in our inbox for as long as it's needed to help you and keep a record, and we delete it when you ask us to.

We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell or "share" it as defined by California law.

4. How long we keep it

  • Daily check-offs (on our servers): removed automatically once that day has ended in every time zone on Earth. An hourly cleanup does this whether or not you open the app. Your setup (lists, routine, recipes) is kept.
  • Your history (on your device): your device keeps up to the last 31 days of check-offs so you can download your log. It's never sent to us. It's cleared when you sign out, when you tap Settings → This device → Clear saved history, or when you clear your browser data.
  • Downloaded logs (PDF, Word, CSV): made on your device and saved to your downloads. We never receive or keep them.
  • Your board's setup: kept until you delete it or delete your account.
  • Share links: kept until you stop sharing them, or for 30 days if you chose that. A look's shared photo is deleted when you stop sharing it.
  • Setup chat, label photos and food look-ups: not kept by us. Our AI service provider may keep what it receives for up to 30 days for safety checks and doesn't use it to train its AI.
  • Device IDs (Professional accounts, and Free boards): a Professional account's device IDs are dropped after 90 days without use. A Free board keeps only the one device it's open on. All of it is deleted with your account.
  • Feedback you send: kept until you delete your account.
  • Payment records: Stripe keeps its own records of your payments, invoices and refunds for as long as the law and its own rules require, even if you delete your account (see section 7).
  • Your account: kept until you delete it.
  • Backups: our database provider keeps daily backups for up to 7 days, so deleted information can remain in a backup for up to 7 days before it's gone.

5. Who we share it with

We share information only with the people you choose and with the companies that help us run the service.

People you choose:

  • Your family, if you join a Family Plan: your shared Pantry, Cabinet, recipes, and Today's focus note. Never items you mark Private, and never your own routine, goals, or check-offs.
  • Anyone with a link you share: the routine or look you shared.
  • Your professional, if you're a professional's client: your professional writes your plan and can see the plan they wrote. Your professional can never see your check-offs, history, or notes. If you download your log and send it to them, that's your choice.

For Practice Setup (when offered), we may use automated tools to read the plans you send us (as files or pasted in) and pull out the food and plan details we need to build your client plans. We delete the plans and files you send within 30 days.

The food finder uses nutrition data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Barcode scanning uses your camera on your device and sends only the barcode number. If you choose to have a label read from a photo, that photo is sent to our AI service to read it.

Open Food Facts. Some barcode results come from Open Food Facts, a database built by its contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Data © Open Food Facts contributors. Foods that only Open Food Facts has are shown only if you choose to see community-submitted foods.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a sale or merger of the business (in which case this policy would still apply to your information).

6. Cookies and tracking

We don't use advertising cookies, analytics, or tracking pixels. We use your browser's storage to keep your board, your sign-in, and your preferences on your device.

7. Your choices and rights

  • See and change your information: everything we keep about your board is on your board.
  • Delete it: Settings → Account → Delete my account and data removes your board, check-offs, share links, uploaded photos, family membership, and sign-in in one step. If you're a professional, it also removes your practice and your clients' plans and notes. A client's professional keeps the plan they wrote for you, no longer linked to you.
  • If you pay: deleting your account cancels your subscription at once; the app warns you first. Stripe keeps its own payment records (the amounts, dates, receipts and the card's brand and last four digits) because tax, accounting and anti-fraud rules require it. We delete our copy of your account and billing details.
  • Leave a family at any time in Settings → Family.
  • Stop sharing any link in Settings → Share my plan.
  • Use it without an account: you can use Daily Food Plan without signing in.

Depending on where you live (for example California, other U.S. states, or the European Union, the United Kingdom and elsewhere), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or get a copy of your information, to object to or limit certain uses, to withdraw consent, and to not be treated worse for using these rights. To use them, write to support@dailyfoodplan.com. We'll respond within the time the law requires. If we turn down a request, you can appeal by replying to us, and you can also contact your local data protection authority or attorney general.

8. Consumer health data

Some laws (such as Washington's My Health My Data Act and Nevada's health data law) treat information about what you eat, take or plan as consumer health data. For that information:

  • What we collect: the foods, supplements and medications on your board, your routine, and your check-offs, as described in section 2. We collect it from you (and, for a client, from the professional who writes your plan).
  • Why: only to run your board and the features you choose.
  • Who gets it: the service providers in section 5 that run the service for us, and the people you choose to share with. We don't sell it, and we don't share it for advertising.
  • Your choices: you can see, change and delete it yourself in the app (section 7), withdraw consent by deleting it or your account, and ask us for a copy. If we say no to a request, you can appeal as described in section 7.

9. Security

Your information is protected by sign-in with a one-time code, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and database rules that let each person reach only their own information. We test those rules regularly. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your phone and email secure too.

10. Where your information is handled

Daily Food Plan is run from the United States, and our providers handle your information in the United States and, in some cases, other countries. If you use Daily Food Plan from outside the United States, you understand that your information goes there. Where the law requires safeguards for such transfers, we rely on our providers' standard contractual terms.

11. Children

Daily Food Plan is for adults 18 and older. It isn't directed to anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe someone under 18 has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

12. Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect.
